%CDP-4-DUPLEX_MISMATCH:FastEthernet2

how do we solve this one when we have tried everything..

heres the setup
there is a site running 2811 CME and a branch office running 850 Router, the router is connected to a Dlink Switch and thereafter a Netgear Hub. getting complicated right? well on that Netgear device there is plugged a Cisco IP Phone.

this is where we get the message:
Feb 6 11:16:24.617 UTC: %CDP-4-DUPLEX_MISMATCH:FastEthernet2 (not half duplex), with MAC ADDRESS

i have tried adjusting the port speed/duplex settings, swapped the device around etc, since CDP i sCisco-proprietary and we dont really need it running (because other devices dont understand CDP), we might as well turn it off

R1#conf t
Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.
R1(config)#int fa2
R1(config-if)#no cd
R1(config-if)#no cdp en
R1(config-if)#no cdp enable
R1(config-if)#^Z

overall benefit; the Cisco router log is no longer cluttered with mismatch errors
