What is CDP?
CDP is a Cisco proprietary Network Discovery protocol. It works with SNMP to identify devices on the network. CDP stands for Cisco Discovery Protocol.

Quick CDP facts:
-Shows information about directly connected Cisco deviced
-runs by default, globally and all open interfaces
-Sends CDP Packets every 60 secs

useful commands:
Sh cdp neighbor
sh CDP neighbor detail –shows alot more info including MAC and IP Addresses

Disabling CDP
Globally -cdp run / no cdp run
Interface level – cdp enable / no cdp enable
